Where's the Narrator?

Everyday lately I hear the same question when reading a certain 2 year old books?

"Who's saying that?  Where are they?  Who is saying that?!"

Anytime the narrative voice pops up (yes, that's basically every page) she asks where they are and get's frustrated that there is no picture of the narrator in the illustrations.

She just won't accept that there is some disembodied voice explaining plot actions and internal insights into the character's emotions.
