When they ride their scooters around they often pretend they are characters in a video game racing on their landspeeders (Star Wars).  They referred to their characters as "Jewel Girls" on this particular day due to their outfit/accessories for the day.

The princess and the paramedic.  (Someone had "paramedic" as her community job for her class project.)
