We resurrected the first birthday princess duck theme, since Maisie loves ducks too - and it's one of the words that she says that everyone/anyone can understand. Geneva mixed the icing for me and didn't even coat that much of the kitchen with powdered sugar, and added the sprinkles.
After some tentative prodding with her finger she took a bite and quickly was alternating bites from the hunks of cake in each hand.
